Our minds are so capable at playing tricks at us. It was a horrible dream that seemed so real. I hate it.
Two people i love getting cancer and seeing them die.
wtf!
What an honour this early in the morning.
It’s been 6 days since i reported for duty with another 4 of my new colleagues. It takes about 10 minutes from one end to the other, 3 minutes to the nearest washroom, and 5 minutes to my car. I know by huge factory standard, it’s small but the place is way bigger than my last one, so it took some getting used to. Being a Japanese company, the work culture is also very much different from an European company’s work culture. No we dont go out onto the roof to sing the national song, take an oath and stretch out every morning but they focus a lot on attendance, punctuality and loyalty. We are provided with free meals, and to be honest i really had my doubts about the quality of the food at first but after a week, i have to say im surprised that it’s way way better than i initially thought. Lemon chicken, butter prawns, sweet and sour fish, fried chicken. Although it feels like a eating in prison because food gets serve on a stainless steel tray, it’s ok because most importantly it doesn’t taste like “cafeteria food”, if you know what i mean.

Part of factory 6
These few days have been about visiting various factories within the company, learning about the different processes and getting used to speaking and listening to malay. The place employs roughly 3500 workers and a big majority of the operators and technicians are the local bumi. So we have to conduct meetings and training in dual languages, mostly using bahasa malaysia. Learning and communicating has also been a challange for me because im not used to conversing in malay. The last i remember talking malay was in secondary school. Not only that, most of them talk in a heavy local malay ascent + bahasa sarawak and slang which is very hard to understand. I did noticed that the chinese employees there are mostly well versed in bahasa sarawak so i guess it gets some getting used to. 5 new employees including me with 2 malays, 1 iban and a bidahyu. Today we shared alot of info about our own race, languages and religion and i am surprised to have discovered a lot of interesting things that i never knew about the other races even after staying here my entire life.
Anyway, after a 2 month break, its obvious to me that im not used to going to work because im all so tired at the end of the day. I hardly have enough energy to concentrate on doing my revision (finals coming up soon) and i fall asleep around 10pm, sometimes even earlier.
On the other hand, I dont know what is going on inside of me but it cant seem to repair itself. It’s tiring, it really is. Im not trying to keep complaining but i do wish sometimes i could give up other luxuries just for being able to feel better. Too bad i dont have a freaking choice.
Oh ya, sorry to my very small population of readers if this blog is getting so depressing. Of course my blog is about how i see things from my perspective. If it’s bothering you in anyway, just dont visit la ok. There aint a barrel pointing at your head.
Finally, any of you have any charity events, please do let me know. Im not loaded like Bill Gates but i know charity it’s not all about donating money. It’s about giving, especially things that money can never buy…like time, love, care and the human connections. Im not doing this because i feel like i havent done any good or i’ve done too much bad but it’s the feeling that we get when we see the joy in the faces of those we have helped that matters. After all, we’ve been fortunate enough to be given a pair of hands for free, why not put it to good use, right? I cant promise anything but please do drop me an email. Thanks!
Happy Gawai!
I spent half of my salary today on a pair of shorts. It can mean only two things, either
1. I bought a very expensive pair of shorts, which in turn means i have a very good pay. Or,

Famous Burberry Tartan
2. I bought a not so expensive pair of shorts, which means i’m getting really crap allowance.

Not so expensive shorts
I wished it was No.1 :P
